Your main tasks are:

  • The product manager conducts a thorough needs assessment with the customer to determine how Adwatec can tailor its products to their needs in the best possible way.
  • You communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and ensure that things progress according to the agreed-upon schedule.
  • The Product Manager is responsible for advancing the product portfolio, introducing new products to the market, and conducting diverse market research analyses.
  • You maximize product profitability and further develop the product according to customer needs.
  • The job also requires regular visits to customers and participation in events such as various trade fairs. Working solely in the office does not provide sufficient insight into customer operations.
  • Marine and Industrial segment strategic product portfolio management together with technical manager.
  • Market and application knowledge management​​
  • Creating and developing product marketing material, sales catalogue & developing product configurator
  • Product approval with classification societies

Expected value of short- and long-term goals

1-6 months

  • Familiarize oneself with the company, its products, and also become acquainted with various stakeholders (internal and external).

6-12 months

  • Success during this period will be measured by, for example, the following:
    • The growth of sales for Adwatec’s C-series products.
    • The completion of new sales support materials and market research studies.
    • New product type approval

12-24 months

  • Success during this period will be measured with same topics as previous one but with more demanding target values

Appropriate education and ideal background

  • Engineering degree in power electronics or similar would be ideal. Other engineering fields such as energy engineering can be a good base as well.
  • Comprehensive work experience in product management, preferably in a manufacturing industry company. A history of working with a device manufacturer that supplies equipment to industrial players would be ideal.
  • Having a background with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in applications such as UPS systems, cranes, and hoisting machinery would be advantageous
  • Experience in power electronics or the marine sector is highly relevant for this position (but not a must).
  • A candidate with a strong background in electrical power and automation engineering would be well-suited for this position. Understanding the client’s application is crucial, as the goal is to sell a refined device equipped with proprietary software, underpinned by Siemens logic controllers.
  • Experience in electrical design could be beneficial.

Your team and the closest stakeholders

  • The individual must possess the ability to interact effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • The key internal and external stakeholders include sales, customers, production and design.
  • The Product Manager is a member of the engineering & product mgmt department.
  • The team comprises a total of 8 individuals, including mechanical, electrical, and process designers.

Location and other employment matters

  • Some travel is to be expected in this role, with an average of 30-60 days per year visiting customer sites. Active participation in various trade shows is also part of the role.
  • Office and production are now located in Kangasala, but we are moving the Brand new facilities to Kaukajärvi, Tampere. Hybrid working model is in use, allowing you to utilize your home office as well.
