Cooling requirements
Uniform temperature control across all battery modules is critical for safety, performance, and longevity. Cooling systems must maintain tight temperature tolerances even during load fluctuations or rapid charging/discharging.
Closed-loop liquid cooling application:
Coolant circulates within the ESS enclosure, removing heat from battery modules and electronics. This heat is transferred to the technical water loop or rejected via a dry cooler — especially common in containerized or modular battery systems. As typical requirement for coolant temperature is well below the typical vessel technical water temperature, often chillers are needed to provide lower temperature coolant.
